CTN Spotlight on... Carina!
CTNX: Hi Carina, it's great to speak with you! Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
CG: I am a 2d Illustrator and concept artist in Los Angeles, California
CTNX: When and how did your relationship with CTN begin?
CG: While at the Art Institute, my instructor told our class about the event and that we should check it out. Finally after finishing school, I applied to volunteer and since then I look forward returning each year.
CTNX: What have your positions been with CTNX and what have you learned most from your experience with CTN?
CG: I was in Registration throughout the entity of the expo. It was interesting. many ups and downs, but overall still a fun experience. I would say I got an insight into the creative network event and no how to prepare and approach a prospect
CTNX: What are your ultimate career goals?
CG: I want to own my own studio and as well establish my self as a freelance 2d illustrator and concept artist.
CTNX: How does CTN help you meet those goals?
CG: I'm surrounded by the industry I want to establish myself with, as well as other artists who are in my field that can help, assist and guide me in the right direction and pass on advice on ones work
CTNX: What have you learned most from your experience working with CTN?
CG: If working in registration, bring plenty of water and snacks, especially when sitting in the sun for hours checking in guests. Staying hydrated is important. Also patience is a virtue. If any hiccups come along the way, remain calm, assist the guest anyway you can and try to keep the situation at hand.
CTNX: What do you look forward to most in the coming years regarding your career?
CG: I would like to work for a company or at least get my name out there and be able to attend expos like CTN as an artist vendor then as a guest.
CTNX: It was a pleasure talking with you Carina!
