CTN Spotlight on ... Shuo!
CTNX: Hello Shuo, it's a pleasure to speak with you! Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
SF: I grew up in China loving dancing and math through all my childhood. In 2010, I started my career in cross-cultural communication and international co-production management for performing arts in Beijing, and have since been able to work with many top dance companies and orchestras in the world. To pursue a more interdisciplinary art form that can closely interact with young generations, in 2014, I attended CalArts for MFA education in Creative Producing and Management with a focus on animation.
CTNX: When and how did your relationship with CTN begin?
SF: I heard so many good things from recruiters and from the producer of the first animated feature that I worked on. So I signed up as a CTN volunteer!
CTNX: What have your positions been with CTNX?
SF: I started as a lead in VIP lounge and the year after moved to staffing management.
CTNX: What are your ultimate career goals?
SF: Producing animations that bridge the east and the west.
CTNX: How does working with CTN help you meet those goals?
SF: CTN connects me with many friendly and talented people, and valuable resources in the industry. It helps me understand how to better work with artists from different cultural backgrounds and create a safe place for the imagination to grow.
CTNX: Is there anything else you'd like to add?
CTNX: It was a pleasure to talk with you Shuo!
