CTN Spotlight on... Hugh!
CTNX: Hi Hugh, it's a great to speak with you! Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
HS: My name is Hugh Schock, I am 28 years old and I live in Temecula, California. This time last year I began creating art full time and have been featured in several international art publications and have participated in several gallery exhibitions while working on independent stop motion animation projects.
CTNX: When and how did your relationship with CTN begin?
HS: Last year when I joined Linkedin, I made contacts in the animation industry and several of my connections have mentioned and recommended me going to CTNX to network and to make professional connections with artists and animators I admire. This would be the first year I would attend and work for CTN.
CTNX: What are your ultimate career goals?
HS: My ultimate career goals is to make a living creating art. I hope to work in animation as either a character designer or storyboard artist while selling and exhibiting my artwork in galleries and working independently creating creative ad content for Viacom, Turner, and other major cable providers.
CTNX: How does working with CTN help you meet those goals?
HS: Working with CTN would help me meet and network with both future and current animation and art professionals. Since I did not go to art school, CTN would provide an extremely important opportunity to meet professionals and to seek professional feedback on my portfolio to both learn and grow in my endeavors.
CTNX: What do you look forward to most in the coming years regarding your career?
HS: I look forward to continuing to develop and to refine my artist capabilities. In the coming years I will work toward continuing to exhibit my artwork throughout the country and to strive to get a position within Cartoon Network as a character designer or storyboard artist.
CTNX: Is there anything else you'd like to add?
HS: I would like to thank you for your consideration and I hope that I can become a part of the CTN staff and family to help others like myself meet and exceed their career goals.
CTNX: It was a pleasure to talk with you Hugh!
